Pattern

Trying to incorporate more colours into the patters certainly gives off more of a patterned approach. I still think that they are lacking something, but they are definitely getting there. The more shapes there are, the more pattern it creates, this is something that I will pick up on. I will start to try and use a few more shapes instead of just triangles.

Pattern

Trying different types and different colours I have added more of an element of shapes and patterns to it. I think it is coming together a little better, but just needs something to pull it all together to really say pattern and not shape. The one with the continual line is maybe for a few posters that could be ties together with the line. This could be pointless.

Pattern Exhibition Ideas Digital

The first idea I had for the posters. As I expected It is less about the pattern and more about the shapes. I need something really impactful that says pattern when you see it.

Another couple of ideas. I think these are getting more towards the point of pattern and less shape. But still not as much impact as I would hope. I think the type works well but need to have a go with some more types. I think adding another element of colour could give it another edge.

Patter Exhibition Skethes

The first idea that came to my head was to use shapes to create patterns. I am not to good at pattern making so why not let shapes do it for me? Simple shapes like triangles and diamonds can make really nice shapes when overlaid. I haven't really used a lot of colour in my FMP yet so I am going to utilize colours to the full this project.

Once again playing round with idea of pattern. Maybe limiting the colours I'm not sure. I think I want a bigger spread of shapes so it is less about the shapes and more about the pattern that the shapes make.

Thinking about the idea of using a few different shapes to make patterns. Once again I am worried that if I use a load of shapes then it will draw away from the idea of pattern and come more towards an exhibition of shapes, which is completely not what I want. Not being a pattern expert I want to try and create patterns as simply and effectively as possible. Also my work is as simple as possible usually so I don't want to draw away from that.

This is an idea for carrying on a pattern over a few posters instead of just having a single patter in one. If different colours were used  to create a constant pattern over a few pages, this could work very well when they are all put together.

These are just some real simple and quick ideas for the free screen prints that will be given away. As the posters will be digital prints I think trying to match the colours when screen printed would be silly so just using one colour maybe on different stocks could work better.

Pattern Exhibition Ideas

These are just ideas for what would come with the exhibition pack and the promo material. So far I have decided on the promo poster, promo flyer, exhibition catalogue, screen printed postcard and a web page of artists/designers. The exhibition pack to be sold would be the catalogue and free print, these would be packaged somehow.

Fedrigoni Envelope

These are the (separate) stickers for the envelope of the booklet. Obviously I wanted to keep them really simple as they are going on an understated white envelope. This is literally just so people know who it is getting sent from, as it is aimed at designers.

This is how they will sit on the envelope. Just small and understated, like I said.

Poster Slight Change

This is the bottom with the info on, I have ever so slightly changed it too fit the strap line in. I have made the 'Fedrigoni Paper thing smaller and put in 'this is were it all starts' underneath, I feel this will work better as all the info is on the poster.

Fedrigoni Poster

Just a nice quick poster for the Fedrigoni Campaign. Its a weird format long and thin, but I'm pretty pleased with it. Because the Booklet will get mailed out, I am doing this poster to go with the postcard and will package them, these are to be given out.

Packaging

These are some envelopes for packaging ideas. The clear plastic poly sleeves are for the Hitchcock Zine and for other zines that I will produce. The big white one is for the Fedrigoni Booklet, I will put some stickers on the front for the company name and for address purposes. The brown recycled pulp envelopes are for the Hitchcock prints. They will be perforated and screen printed small on the envelope back.

Pack Ideas

This is a quick sketch for the idea for the pack design. I want it to carry on the theme of suspense, so I am going to print onto the back of my posters the name of the poster series. The posters will be folded into quarters and put into envelopes, the envelopes will be perforated so that you can suspensefuly see the title of the poster series. I think it will work fairly good.

Final Zine

This is the final zine (badly photographed). It has worked well and is clean and simple. The cover is printed on 120gsm light red uncoated stock from Gadsby's. The inside pages are printed on normal inkjet paper. Over all this has given it the effect that I was hoping for. A subtle red gives it that dangerous image, like blood. The pictures look a lot better printed in just black and white, no halftone. All I need now is a bag for it.

New Zine Layout

These are the new layouts for the zine. Just some minimal tweaking but well needed. Everything has been dropped down and is line up with the pictures, this makes it more pleasing to the eye. I have also just kept the pictures in black and white. They don't need to be halftones if I am not screen-printing them. This layout is nicer and utilizes the space better, like the zines I have been looking at.

Zine Mock up

This is just a small mock up for the zine. The layout doesn't look as good printed than on screen, I think it needs a little tweaking to be honest. The format works fine, but I wont halftone the images because when you laser print them they make a little pattern, so I will just keep them simple black and white. I still want to use coloured paper for the cover.

Zine

Ideas coming from the initial quick sketches. I don't want to spend too much time on this as it is a small part of the brief. The zine is a simple layout in a very zine like style. I think it works as it explains a brief outline of the films and explains what the posters are like. I want to print the deep black on some coloured paper, probably red (blood). This will hopefully give it a cool effect because just a little colour will shine through.
